Personal Fall Protection System

AG Mansafe® System

The Access Groups' Mansafe® System is an EN795:1997 Class C permanent horizontal flexible anchorage system fixed to the building structure and incorporates a stainless steel cable, intermediate cable hangers and a travelling devise. The system is used to protect operatives who are exposed to the risks of falling from height during work.

Once connected to the system via a harness and lanyard, the operatives are able to carry out their work safely, with both hands free. The link between the user's lanyard and the Mansafe® system is a unique travelling device called a Transfastener®. The Transfastener® rotates freely through intermediate supports and cable guides without the need to disconnect, providing the user with permanent protection at all times. In the event of a fall, the system will arrest the operative, minimising any potential injury. Where possible, the system will be positioned away from the fall hazard so that the operative is physically restrained, thus preventing them from reaching a point at which they could fall.

The Mansafe® system can run horizontally, vertically, inclined or round corners. Its versatile range of components and fixtures allows it to address specific load and design requirements and the simplicity of the fixings allows unobtrusive installation on brick, masonry, steel, aluminium and wood. Mansafe® systems can range from a single cable across an industrial unit through to complex vertical and horizontal systems on a new or refurbished building.

Load control is essential in the design and installation of any cable-based fall protection system. Its capacity depends on the strength of the structure, supports, components and cable and how they all work together under stress.

Prior to designing a fall protection system, our technical staff will consider carefully the fixings, support materials, position and the number of users the system can accommodate at any one time. These factors will enable the loadings to be calculated accurately and correct design recommendations made.

In keeping with Work at Height Regulations 2005, our fall protection systems are designed for fall restraint rather than fall arrest wherever possible.

All critical cast components are made from 17/4PH or 316C grade stainless steel, carry a unique serial number and are subject to 100% x-ray inspection, dye penetrant or magnetic particle analysis and batch conformance testing. All system bracketry is made from 316S marine grade stainless steel. All critical items are subject to 100% visual inspection, carry unique numbering to provide complete traceability and are subject to batch conformance testing.
