Martin Rojahn appointed as Projects Director
The Access Group are pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Rojahn as Projects Director. Martin has responsibility for overseeing and co-ordinating the successful delivery of both facade access and fall protection solutions and for additionally meeting the company’s primary objectives relative to safety, performance and quality.
Martin has worked in the UK Construction industry for over 30 years and during this period has fulfilled a number of senior Project Management roles. Prior to joining The Access Group, Martin was engaged by Ocon Construction Limited. With a successful and proven track record, Martin brings a wealth of experience and technical competency to the role.

Raising standards in the UK permanent and temporary access industry
We are delighted to announce that Karl Greenfield, Technical Director, has been appointed as Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Specialist Access Engineering and Maintenance Association [SAEMA] - the national representative body of the UK permanent and temporary access industry, with effect from February 2008. The appointment is for a two-year term.
The SAEMA technical committee meets several times during the year and produces various guidance notes for members, Architects, Consultants, Insurance Inspectors, Facilities Managers etc on what SAEMA recommends as best practice.
SAEMA are also actively involved in the production, revision and amendments of relevant British and European Standards affecting the suspended access industry.

Healthy gain for The Access Group
Expanding on its already impressive portfolio of projects, The Access Group has been awarded a £1.5m contract by Balfour Beatty to work on the prestigious Birmingham Hospital project.
The new hospital will cover an area of 137,000m2 and will provide 1,213 beds. The project is scheduled for completion in 2011.
The scheme will involve the design, installation, testing and commissioning of a façade access solution to the three truncated pods to facilitate high level cleaning, inspection and maintenance activities to be carried out safely and efficiently. Additionally, the company have also been tasked with the installation of over 3km of Guardrail.
